Robert (Sutherland), a Manhattan stockbroker mending after a recent heartbreak, enjoys a night of sexual healing with Daphne (Vanasse), a lovely stranger he meets in a bar. Come morning, however, Daphne blackmails him into joining her on a bus trip back to Northern Ontario, where she plans to introduce him to her long-estranged parents as her fiance. Little of what happens next is credible or compelling -- the inevitable happy ending is a logic-free zone -- but lenser Jonathon Cliff makes some of the Ontario locales appear quite attractive. She once hinted that Murray's character Pete Venkman might appear in the movie as a slimer ghost, and that Oscar, her character's son from the second movie, would be a full-fledged Ghostbuster, which would be hilarious, but doubtful that it will come to be. Meanwhile one of the film's biggest cheerleaders, Dan Aykroyd, has said that they will proceed with or without Murray. "What we have to remember is that 'Ghostbusters' is bigger than any one component, although Billy was absolutely the lead and contributed to it in a massive way, as was the director and Harold [Ramis], myself and Sigourney [Weaver]." Aykroyd said. "The concept is much larger than any individual role and the promise of 'Ghostbusters 3' is that we get to hand the equipment and the franchise down to new blood."
